Private shuttle or shared shuttle?
“Shuttle” covers two very different things at Cancun Airport. A shared shuttle sells you a seat: it waits until the van fills, then drops 5 to 8 other groups before yours. A private shuttle sells you the vehicle: it leaves when you land and goes straight to your hotel.
The gap grows with distance. To the Hotel Zone a shared van takes 60 to 90 minutes against about 25 private. To Tulum, shared shuttles often need 2.5 to 3 hours because of the drop-offs; the private run is 90 to 110 minutes. For a family of four the per-seat saving on a shared van is small, and it costs you the first hours of your holiday.
Where to find your shuttle at CUN
Cancun Airport has three commercial terminals. Terminal 2 handles domestic flights, Alaska and most Latin American carriers. Terminal 3 handles the big US and Canadian airlines — American, Delta, United, Spirit, Air Canada. Terminal 4 handles Southwest, JetBlue, Frontier, Aeroméxico and most European airlines. The pickup works the same way in all three:
- Book online — pay by card, PayPal or Mercado Pago, or choose to pay cash in USD or MXN. Add your flight number.
- We track your flight. Early or late, the driver adjusts; a delay costs you nothing.
- Clear immigration and customs at Terminal 2, 3 or 4 — the process is the same in each.
- Walk past the booths inside the terminal. The people offering a “free ride” between customs and the exit are selling timeshare presentations, not transportation.
- Go to your terminal’s meeting point — Terminal 2: right through the exit doors, or the Welcome Bar for international flights · Terminal 3: the Margaritaville bar · Terminal 4: column C. Your driver waits there with a TT & MORE sign and official airport ID.
- Straight to your hotel — no other passengers, no other drop-offs.

Shuttle hours, late flights and delays
Airport pickups run at any hour, including the last arrivals of the night, with no night surcharge. Give us your flight number when you book: we track it, so an early landing or a two-hour delay needs no phone call and costs nothing extra. Our office answers questions from 8:00 to 20:00 Cancún time, and same-day bookings are handled on WhatsApp.
Luggage, car seats and stops
Groups of up to 9 ride in a Toyota Hiace or Nissan Urvan with room for suitcases. A Toyota Sienna or Highlander carries up to 4 passengers with limited luggage — tell us your bags and we send the right vehicle. Car seats are free on request; give us each child’s age when booking. A stop on the way (supermarket, pharmacy) is fine with prior notice: up to 1 hour is $30 USD.
Shuttle vs taxi, Uber and the ADO bus
Airport taxis quote at the curb. A regular Uber usually will not pick you up at the terminal — the details are in Uber at Cancun Airport. The ADO bus is the cheapest option for one or two people travelling light, but it stops at bus stations, not hotels. For families, groups, late arrivals and anyone with a ferry to catch, a pre-booked private shuttle is usually the better deal.
