Why this route is different
Holbox is the one destination on our list with no direct alternative. There is no ADO route that takes you to the island: the bus option is $25 to Chiquilá plus the ferry, and an airport taxi runs $300 or more. Shared shuttles generally do not serve this route at all, because the pier is well off the tourist corridor.
That makes the timing matter more than on other routes. The ferry does not run around the clock, so a late arrival at CUN can mean missing the last crossing. Send your flight number when you book and we will tell you honestly whether the connection works that day or whether an overnight in Chiquilá or Cancun is the safer plan.
